Meet Florence Nightingale

Meet a costumed Florence Nightingale. Learn about her life, handle objects she might have owned and used and make a Scutari Hospital nurse’s sash.

WWII: Children’s Home Front

Use archive photographs, documents and artefacts to find out what it was like for evacuees and other children living in Norfolk during WWII.

WWI: Life in the Trenches

Use original documentation, including the Regimental Casualty Record book with evidence of shell shock, to find out what conditions were like for soldiers on the front line.

  Use our ‘dialogue box’ of special objects to spark discussion and trigger memories. This educator-led session can be focused to encourage cross-curricular exploration relating to literacy, citizenship, PSE, art and history. The dialogue box is also available to borrow.
